Oprah is known for her charity work and how she donates to those in need and gives to people. One of her charitable projects is Oprah's Angel Network. It is a nonprofit organization that has done many projects such as The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa and rebuilding the gulf coast.
The Oprah Winfrey Foundation is something that is run exclusively by Oprah. It was established in 2007 initially to support the girls school in Africa. Through these projects, she has extended her influence throughout the world.
Oprah is also a big supporter of The Clinton Foundation which supports many causes including treating HIV and AIDS. She also donates to Project Cuddle which rescues hundreds of babies from abandonment and abuse each year, and is one of the largest contributors to Free the Children, an organization dedicated to building school for children in developing countries.

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls is an all-girls boarding school in South Africa. It provides educational and leadership opportunities and a chance to get a good education for girls from impoverished backgrounds in South Africa. To get into the school, they have to show leadership qualities for making a difference in the world. In addition, they have to prove that they can overcome challenging circumstances in their life. When it opened, Oprah got over 3,000 applications but only accepted 152 because those 152 girls ages 11-12 were so bright that even poverty couldn't put them down. This school had made a large difference in the lives of many young girls.
